Perkins to Work with Norfolk on Criminal Justice

Dr. Robert K Perkins, associate professor and sociology chair, has been appointed by Norfolk City Council to serve on the Criminal Justice Committee for the City of Norfolk. He will work with the chief justices, the chief of police, commonwealth’s attorney and the sheriff. The charge of this board is to develop, establish and maintain community-based corrections programs to provide the judicial system with sentencing alternatives for those convicted of certain misdemeanors or non-violent felonies.
