O'Quinn Named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior center Kyle O'Quinn was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and selected to the All-MEAC first team, the league announced on Thursday. In addition, NSU freshman guard Pendarvis Williams was named to the MEAC All-Rookie Team.

O'Quinn leads the MEAC in rebounding at 10.7 per game and is second in blocks, at 3.2 per game. His average of 7.6 defensive rebounds per game is also the highest figure for any MEAC player. O'Quinn – whose season total of 90 blocks already rates as an NSU single-season school record – was a four-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Week during the season. Nationally, O'Quinn enters Thursday's season finale ranked sixth in blocks and 11th in rebounding(click here for more information)
