NSU Awarded Nearly $6 Million in Department of Defense Grants
Norfolk, Va.—The Department of Defense has awarded Norfolk State University three grants, totaling nearly $6 million. The grants, all part of the fiscal 2011 DoD Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions Program, will enhance education programs and research capabilities in scientific disciplines critical to national security and the DoD.
"The intellectual capital that exists at Norfolk State University is tremendous,” said Kim Luckes, acting president of Norfolk State University. "The number and substantial award amounts are a testament to the high caliber of faculty here at the University and the excellent support that is provided to our researchers.”
